Death in the afternoon

An acquaintance of mine, who was known in several circles as dancerboy, committed suicide yesterday or today. He was known to have been in a state of severe depression for several years.
Dancerboy left a suicide site in which he left his final thoughts and his will. It begins:
Greetings.
Forgive the roughness of this site, but I do not have much time left. This website is the final public communication of a person who is losing his mind. By the time you read this, I will most likely be dead.
There’s something very shocking about reading suicide notes. I can’t quite place why this one is particularly wrenching, except that all the answers I would usually have trusted are the ones he had dismissed. Jason, here’s hoping you’re in a better place now. Sorry nothing helped you here.
