Someone set us up the bomb threat

Minor excitement abounds at the Seybold conference. Yesterday, I and 11,000 of my close personal friends were asked to evacuate the Moscone center due to a “major situation.” “Boy,” I said, with distinctive dry wit in tow, “that’s better than a bomb threat, isn’t it?”
Sam Ruby mentions the threat, and the somewhat troubling news that it was called in at 1:30pm, with a warning that it would detonate in an hour… and we weren’t evacuated until 3pm. Doh!
Helpful hint for next time Terrah comes to your town: when you’re cleared out of a building because it may explode, perhaps the best place to mill around is not directly in front of the entrance. (The Westin St. Francis, about a half-mile away, was perfectly serviceable.)
