I think the song lyric actually says, “I am the visual, the inspiration, that made Lady sing the blues.” This refers to Ella Fitzgerald, known as Lady Ella. Could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

“the inspiration that made Lady sing the blues” refers to Billie Holliday, aka Lady Day. “Lady Sings the Blues” is the movie about her life, starring Diana Ross, made in 1972.
